Frequently Asked Questions
Questions frequently asked by new visitors.
Q: I’m a (insert religion here) do you worship the Devil? Are these events supporting evil?
A: No, and No. We respect those paths that believe in a “Devil”, we however neither believe in, nor worship any such entity.
A principle context for us is: We are a warm, caring and learning group, dedicated to seeking the balance and wisdom of the Craft through the positive teachings of the Old Ways. We do not dwell on evil, nor do we seek its influence with anything we do. True magic is neither black nor white. The only good or bad is in the heart of the practitioner.
SJUP supports the individual finding their own path/beliefs.
Sacred Journey Untamed Path - is about bringing what is personally sacred to you into daily practice without limitations (Untamed).
SJUP - is “untamed” - which allows for individual recognition of Feminine and/or Masculine aspects of Deity without restriction to language, history, mythology or tradition.
Q: Is SJUP - a WICCA path?
A: No. Although WICCA is an Earth and Life honoring Religion, we at SJUP feel we are an Earth and all-life-honoring way of life. EXPLANATION: Our belief is it’s not something we do; it’s something we live every day.
SJUP is more focused on practical life application and building “spirit family” community.
Many of the WICCA Religion have found that the SJUP path, teachings and community are familiar to them and the enjoy the “Untamed” aspects of SJUP.
Those practicing/exploring Life and Earth Honoring paths are usually intelligent, independent, (sometimes rebellious), deeply spiritual people. Many practice alone/solitary because of this. It has been said that uniting these people as a community is like “Herding Cats”. To that we at SJUP would like to offer this invitation . . . come on over, pull up a comfy pillow, stretch out with a warm saucer of milk and let yourself ROAR!
Those who have discovered Sacred Journey Untamed Path - have found themselves creating a community that does not require everyone to be “the same”.
All those who journey with the SJUP spirit family find themselves both teacher and student.
We choose to journey together and find loving benefit through association with others who are strong, independent, diverse, free thinking, loving and kind in acceptance of individuality.
